McDonald Homecare has been established to provide specialised care recruitment and introductory services so people can continue a lifestyle of care and comfort within their own home.
Owners and directors, Leigh and Anila McDonald have worked for many years in both the UK and New Zealand care sectors providing high quality care and recruitment services.
Leigh and Anila have experienced first-hand the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits people enjoy through living in their own homes. This has been both on a personal and vocational level for the husband and wife team, who have elderly family members that have either moved into residential homes or who have chosen care at home.
In their own words;
“What we have seen and experienced throughout our careers and own family has founded the creation of a company that supports people to live their lives in the comfort and security of their own homes. The benefits of having companionship and support at home completely outweigh the benefits of care away from the home. This is not to say that residential homes are not beneficial in their own right, however, they will always be institutes. There is no place like home and the health statistics prove that most people staying in their own home live well, even when they are not well”.
“Many older people in the UK are lonely and isolated and we feel so strongly that they have the right to care services that are simple to arrange and cost effective. This includes the more simplistic model of introductory services that allow the Client a greater freedom to receive the care that supports their lifestyle of choice at home, amongst loved ones and within their own community. People can take full advantage of living in their own homes with a Lifestyle Companion, when the time comes for that extra helping hand and to end personal loneliness”.
