24 Hour Care

24 Hour Live-In Home Care

Visiting care may often be sufficient to meet a person’s care needs for a while. However, many people don’t realise that 24/7 live-in care can achieve far more for a person’s care and wellbeing, and at a comparable cost.

Moving Beyond Task Driven Care
At some point, visiting care will no longer be able to meets a person’s needs. There is only so much that can be achieved with two or three time-limited visits per day. Because of the time limitations of visiting care, it’s very easy for these visits to become task driven. It’s much harder to provide wholistic mental and physical support to a person, compared with live-in care.

The same challenges in providing personalised one-to-one support also apply to care homes, with staff increasingly stretched across many residents. Personal care and attention to the individual is often lost and sometimes even basic care needs.

"The cost of visiting care really started to add up. It ended up being similar to 24/7 Live In Care, with the peace of mind that someone was always there."

Mr. R. Laing

Peace Of Mind And Care Continuity

The peace of mind knowing someone is on hand around the clock, may be achieved for only a small additional weekly cost. As well as knowing someone is there day and night in case of a fall or other emergency, care continuity also improves dramatically.

Care continuity is as important for companionship as it is for someone with dementia. One of the most common complaints with visiting care is a lack of continuity that can be unsettling for a person.

“Not knowing who was coming through the door next was a real worry.”

With live in care, continuity of care is a given. It means a person can build a relationship with their carer, feel settled and get the most from their care.

There is always a step change when someone moves into your home. However, if this is handled carefully from the outset, most people never look back. It’s important right from the start that any concerns are addressed.

"McDonald Homecare have found us the perfect carer. They keep in contact with us and the carer and bend over backwards to help with all our needs. They have been very helpful and supportive. Extremely kind, considerate and very empathetic."

Mrs. T. Elphick
